Merry Christmas Megan!

About four months ago my daughter Megan http://www.mc2prod.com  gave me a bag of her old, but oh so memorable tee shirts, for a possible future project.  So about 4 weeks before Christmas I started the layout. With the help of a friend and wonderful instructor, Jean www.quiltmasters.net I was able to construct a wonderful heirloom quilt for Megan that will surely give her pleasure throughout many years.  I can tell you that even though I have been quilting for five years there is always room for more knowledge.  The piecing and quilting are mine but Jean did give many helpful hints with the design factor.  Every day with every craft is a new learning experience and thankfully this project put a huge smile on Megan's face this past Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas Megan and enjoy your warm treasure!

Betsy's Bridesmaid Quilt

This is a quilt that was made by Betsy for her brother Jim & her sister-in-law Shannon.  That beautiful Sateen material was the fabric cut from the dress that Betsy wore that day July 31, 2010 as one of  Shannon's Bridesmaids. From what I understand Shannon was just not so thrilled with the actual choice of the bridesmaids colors but from what I see here it was a wonderful color for both dress and now this lovely memorable quilt.  For the quilting I gave Betsy many choices but this was both mine and Betsy's favorite.  The snowflake hearts panto gave this quilt that romantic finish.  Congrats Betsy for a fine job! I am sure Jim & Shannon will love their very special Christmas surprise.  Thank you for choosing Just Sew Perfect Designs to finish your project of love.

Liz's Quilt

I love all aspects of my craft, the planning, piecing and then the quilting.  This is a quilt top that a co-quilter buddy, Liz,  pieced as a Christmas gift for her son and daughter-in-law.  I love the colors and the pattern.  I also was excited that she allowed me to add the finishing touch of the quilting.  Great job Liz!

Tote Bag

This is a perfect Tote for Teachers, Scrapbookers or just for anyone who wants to go green.  This is Dani and she is sporting her special order tote for her Teachers Assistant, Miss Brady. This bag was quilted and embroidery is optional.  Move over Vera Bradley!

Once in awhile we must take time for ourselves.  These were from my "Crafting For Me" weekends.  There is nothing better than a fun project to kick you into the Holiday Season.  This candle mat was a fun project which was given by Arlette at the Quilting Circle in Bensalem, PA.  Arlette did a great job and we all had a fun day.

The Fall and Holly table runners were from my weekend for myself.  Me and my cats, home alone while my hubbyPost Options was off playing golf. Amazing how much I can accomplish when I put my mind to it.

A New Beginning for Shannon

The best part of crafting is watching the expression on the faces of the customers as you hand them their treasure.  Brian beamed with pride knowing that he helped pick some of the fabrics in this quilt.  This was the largest quilt to date that I have completed on my longarm and I enjoyed every second of it.  I am wishing Brian's Special Friend Shannon luck and happiness in her new home and I am sure this quilt will keep her extra warm on those cold winter nights.  Enjoy!

Shayla's "Oh So Sheepy" is finished!

I'm So Sheepy

Some weeks back I had a customer ask for a quilt for a baby girl with the colors of lilac, purple and black.  After much thought I came up with this idea of sheep. Megan (MC2 Productions) with her famous Provocraft Cricut found just the right sheep for this project.  Again, the right tools can make a project flow. I am nearing the completion of the quilt top and will be ready to applique those sheep into place.  So far this has been a fun project but I am excited to see the finished product.

Stoogesmania

This quilt was made for a dear friend of mine who will be retired after 40 years of service with Verizon Communications.  Knowing his passion for nostalgia and comedy I just knew that he would appreciate the theme and also those Verizon colors of red, white and black.  I am hoping that on those cold, snowy & wintry nights he will snuggle up with the Stooges and be so grateful that he does not have to be at work by 11pm.  Congrats and best wishes to my dear friend Mike!  Enjoy your retirement.

Justin's Quilt

My nephew is visiting from Germany and I wanted him to take some part of our country and our Philly teams along with a memorable photo of his Dad (Jim ) and Step-Mom (my loving sis Re). Justin enjoyed his visit here and we are hoping he has a safe journey home and returns to us real soon. We will miss you Justin!

Kathie's Quilt

Piecing a quilt is quite a task for the beginner.  This is a quilt pieced by a newbie quilter, Kathie Harrington , who just began this craft in February. I also had much fun quilting this for her .  This was a first for me.  My style of quilting is usually freestyle but I have opened a new chapter of quilting.  My first attempt at a panto went rather well.

MQX at Rhode Island

Just returned from MQX in Rhode Island where I traveled to take classes, ( hopefully to enhance my quilting techniques), and also to see the many quilts that were entered in competition.  Wow, I was truly humbled! There are so many very talented quilters out there with works of art that are magnificent. The teachers there were incredible and the classes were excellent.
But all that aside now and I am back to work on my own projects (i.e. Michael's Frogs).

Ringbearer's Pillow for Wedding

Today was a real test of treading into the unknown waters. I have a customer, Kelly, who brought me her Great Grand Mom's Wedding dress and asked if I could make a ring pillow for her sister's wedding from the back portion of the dress. This dress was incredibly special because it was worn in 1930.  Wow, what a treat! So very old and so very special.

Michael's Frogs

Thanks to Megan ( www.mc2prod.com ) and her inspired baby shower card I was able to create the
faces for Michael's Quilt.

Jayden's Jungle

Nearing completion, this quilt has indeed given me a few challenges. A pieced backing was necessary because the quilt exceeded my original design size.  It does, however, give the option of being used as a reversible quilt.
So, at present, Jayden's Jungle is on my long arm table and in the process of being quilted. Yea!! Thanks Jeanne and Debbie for your help along the way.  Every project is a lesson in patience and creativity.

Jayden's Jungle

Hello Again!  Well I am heading down the home stretch and yes this quilt is almost completed.  The quilting and the binding are all that remain.  All in all this has been a fun project and has given me a reminder that all aspects of quilting are enjoyable.I find it very fulfilling when a simple idea turns into something just sew perfect!

Jayden's Monkeys

Jayden's quilt has been progressing but I did get tied up on some long arm quilt work for other customers who had given me their quilt tops earlier. I needed to get them done before I leave for MQX (Machine Quilters Expo)  I am always seeking more knowledge and always looking to offer my customers a variety of services. Jayden's Jungle Quilt Challenge is indeed a work of art in progress and I am excited for the finished product which should be soon. I must give special mention; to my friends at The Quilting Circle who offered input on my current project and it was all greatly appreciated. This is a wonderful group of ladies who add humor and knowledge to our group and make the day a total thumbs up!

Jayden's Jungle Monkeys and Michael's Baby Frogs

Frogs  and Monkeys - Yes, I have a request for a frog quilt and a monkey quilt.

Well there are a lot of different choices out there but when you are looking for the perfect material, you can easily get lost.  I knew I wanted to include a monkey and frog cut-out to applique on each.  I called my daughter Megan.  We gave her a Provocraft Cricut  for Christmas that can cut all types of materials. She came over on a Sunday and we had a delightful Mom & Daughter Day designing baby animals for both projects.  We laughed as we crafted and voila -success.  As you can see the frogs have no faces but the monkeys do.  The  inspiration for Michael’s Frogs will come on another day.  Quilting is about imagination and creativity.  Here are the beginnings of the quilts I am about to create.
